Navizon Virtual GPS now Available for the iPhone

Navizon Virtual GPS now Available for the iPhone

NEW YORK, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Mexens Technology today announced the availability of Navizon, its Virtual GPS system, for the iPhone. Based on Navizon's Wifi and Cellular tower triangulation techniques, this new software will help iPhone users find their way in the world.

"Just by installing our software and hitting the Locate Me button, iPhone users can now see their position on a map and get directions to their next destination." said Cyril Houri, founder and CEO of Mexens Technology. "This is just as if the iPhone was now equipped with a GPS chip" he added.

Navizon is a positioning system that triangulates signals from Wifi access points and Cellular towers. It is based on a collaborative database where users can contribute wireless beacons' locations that will let other members of the community simulate a Virtual GPS on their device. This is why Navizon is often referred to as the Peer to Peer positioning system.

In addition to the iPhone, Navizon is also available for Windows XP/Vista, Mac OSX, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Symbian and UIQ devices as well as some Java phones.

Mexens Technology was founded in early 2005 by a team of veterans in geolocation technology. The Navizon community is now composed of 75,000 mobile users all around the world and is growing exponentially.
